Benefits of Anhydrous

Our products are entirely anhydrous (contains no water). Anhydrous products penetrate the skin barrier delivering lipophilic (fat loving/oil soluble) active ingredients into the cells more efficiently than water based products. Since the skin’s barrier is comprised of a lipid matrix, it is more plausible that antioxidants, vitamins, and essential fatty acids will reach the deeper layers of the skin than those nutrients found in an aqueous product would. Most products in the market feature 60-80% of water in their formulations.  This not only dilutes the products but can actually damage skin due to the drying effects of water evaporating from the skin surface, and the irritation and disruption of skin barrier lipids by emulsifiers (ingredients that bind the oil and water).

Additionally, with waterless formulations, the need for harsh chemical preservatives, such as parabens, to extend the product’s shelf life or keep it safe for usage is eliminated. Without preservatives and water, the risk of irritations or allergic reactions is also significantly reduced.

Anhydrous products are highly concentrated, packed with genuine therapeutic value of active ingredients. A little goes a long way, with anhydrous products being so effective requiring lighter applications of a product, means there will be less consumption, less packaging, and less transportation.  As you pamper your skin with our products, you are actually reducing the impacts on the environment.

Vitamin C Derivation Used in Oil Perfect

Natural forms of vitamin C are highly unstable in cosmetic formulations, hence, our products which contain vitamin C are formulated with the market’s most stable form of vitamin C, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate. Many forms of vitamin C are water-soluble, and they cannot penetrate the epidermis and reach the dermis to stimulate collagen production. Mostly are unstable as they will oxidise, degrade, and lose their effectiveness quickly, especially when exposed to air or light. Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate is stable and lipid-soluble, which allows it to reach the dermis of the skin to maximise its benefits. It will not exfoliate or irritate skin.

CO2 Oils Used in Oil Perfect

Our organic botanical oils are either cold-pressed or CO2 extracted, both of which are high-quality extraction methods. Supercritical CO2 extraction is an advanced method that guarantees the purest and most potent oil. Using liquid carbon dioxide as the solvent, the beneficial constituents are removed without thermal degradation, preserving the complete properties of the plant. These oil extracts are considered to be of the finest quality.

Hydrosols Used in Oil Perfect

Hydrosols are pure botanical extracts, produced by the steam or water distillation of botanical plants. As an aqueous by-product after the distillation, it contains the water-soluble aroma and therapeutic properties of the plant. Our hydrosols are organic and 100% pure, containing all the essence of the plant in every drop and are gentle on the skin yet effective. They are free of addictives and preservatives.
